On cars with front struts only, you get an inverted front strut and an upright BR Series damper at the rear. Inverting the strut puts most of its mass up top, on the sprung side of the chassis, which cuts unsprung weight. The RM's much larger inverted piston shaft handles high lateral loads for longer without fatigue.
