The JB4 for the 2.0L turbo Infiniti Q50, Q60 and QX30 connects to two easy-to-reach engine bay sensors and works with the factory ECU to remap boost, timing and fuelling. BMS rates it at up to 40 hp and 40 lb-ft at the wheels on a stock car. It raises the ECU's boost target without changing the manifold boost reference, so the ECU still sets timing and fuel correctly for the extra boost and the car stays as smooth as stock.

Features

• BMS figures: up to 40 whp and 40 wtq on a stock vehicle.
• Works on the ECU boost control signals but leaves the manifold boost reference alone, so the factory ECU schedules timing and fuel for the higher boost.
• 64 MHz processor samples the sensors 800 times per second through dedicated 10-bit converters.
• Can run on its own or alongside a flash tune to add boost where wanted; with a flash map, BMS suggests 1-2 psi over the flashed boost target depending on fuel quality.
• Plug-and-play: connects to easy-to-reach sensors in the engine bay plus an OBDII CANbus link, and works with the factory ECU tune. Nothing is flashed.
• Raises boost and adjusts timing and fuelling for more power, quicker 0-60 and quarter-mile times and less turbo lag.
• CANbus integration lets it read pedal and throttle position, timing advance, fuel trims, air/fuel ratio, knock and gear in real time and use that data in its mapping.
• Several maps for different fuels, including E85 ethanol blends, switchable on the fly.
• Boost-by-gear control to help traction off the line.
• Reads and clears fault codes, and displays and logs up to 40 engine parameters.
• Can control the exhaust flap on vehicles equipped with one.

The app has built-in help screens and log analysis tools that estimate performance and point out tuning concerns.

Specifications

• Needs 91 octane or better to make the advertised gains; higher octane lets the JB4 safely run more boost for bigger gains.
• Map guide (per BMS): Map 0 disables the tuner; Map 1 up to 4 psi over stock peak for all 91+ octane fuels; Map 2 up to 5 psi for 93+ octane; Map 3 user-definable fixed boost profile; Map 4 stock performance with CANbus active for logging; Map 5 6.5 psi over stock, holding more power to redline, for E30+ or unleaded race gas; Map 6 user-definable boost over stock; Map 7 7 psi over stock for unleaded race gas; Map 8 water/methanol progressive map (coming soon).
